California College Student Emergency Support Fund

College Futures Foundation (CFF) is coordinating a statewide philanthropic response to address emergency needs for California’s low-income college students, including undocumented, foster, and housing insecure students. CFF is working closely with philanthropic partners to establish a pooled rapid response fund to provide hardship grants to support the persistence of California’s college students through this enormous upheaval.

Who is eligible to receive these funds?

Students must be:

  • Currently enrolled full-time (12+ units) as an undergraduate at a California Community College, California State University, or University of California campus;
  • Have earned at least 24 semester units or 36 quarter units (I.e., one academic year of coursework); and
  • Have a maximum Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of $5,576 (equivalent to Pell eligibility).


Priority will be given to California residents.

How can students apply?

Students will be able to apply for hardship grants online through Mission Asset Fund (MAF), the intermediary partner of the Emergency Support Fund.
