Covid-19 ReliefIn response to the nationwide COVID-19 outbreak, the PC family has come together like never before—despite widespread uncertainty, social distancing, new virtual learning and working environments and major disruption to everyday lives.
We recognize that current students will be among the hardest hit by these events, facing hardships and urgent needs such as food insecurity, housing insecurity, job loss, or lack of educational resources in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. How Can you help?If you are able to give, the PC Family Emergency Student Assistance Fund exists precisely for this type of situation—to help students meet urgent financial needs beyond their control.
Money from the Student Emergency Assistance Fund can help students cope with unexpected medical bills, pay rent in the wake of a lost job. With the shift to online learning, many students struggle to secure additional educational materials such as a laptop, reliable internet, supplies, and software to complete coursework online. The Fund further aims to help students continue progressing toward graduation in this uncertain time by reducing urgent basic needs insecurity or unexpected expenses. Many students who apply for aid have no other resources to deal with these expenses. We know you all face challenges of your own, and we are humbled and inspired by your commitment to meeting students' unique needs, both now and during the difficult days ahead. Thank you for all you are doing to support the Porterville College. We are so grateful to be part of such a generous and compassionate community. |
